Las Vegas City Schools Facilities Master Plan
- 1996 - 2004 - 2010
Soleil West prepared the 1996, 2004, and 2010 Facility Master Plans for Las Vegas City Schools. All of the master plans involved the identification of existing utilities and building facilities. Existing schools and sites were field measured and all data was compiled into AutoCAD computer formats. Building deficiencies and program efficiencies were determined through on-site observations and numerous meetings with school committees. The database of information was used to determine capital improvement needs. Funding requests were made to the Legislature and Public School Capital Outlay. The overall capital improvements planning in both 1996 and 2010 was used in aggressive campaigns to pass local bonds. Facilities maintenance was heavily encouraged throughout the plans to ensure the extended quality of the district’s buildings and sites. Maintenance planning, inventory checklists, and custodial performance checklists were all included as components of the master plans. A standardization of building materials, paint colors, and door hardware was also listed throughout the plans. Energy management and guidelines for conserving energy were developed, and as a result, standards for room temperatures and thermostat settings have since been implemented. Soleil West recently completed the 2010-2015 Facilities Master Plan for Las Vegas City Schools. The entire document is available for view at the NM PSFA website at www.nmschoolbuildings.org.

Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools Facilities Master Plan
- 1997 - 2006
Soleil West prepared the 1997 and 2006 Facility Master Plans for Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools. Both master plans involved the updating of existing utility and building facility information. All existing schools and sites were field measured and all of the collected data was entered into an AutoCAD computer database. Soleil West performed many on-site observations and scheduled many meetings with school district and community members. These site visits and meetings helped the firm pinpoint existing facility and program deficiencies and appropriately prioritize capital improvements. Soleil West also aided the district in the generation of promotional literature. These brochures highlighted the necessary district improvements and ultimately helped the district receive state and federal funding. As with many of the firm’s completed master plans, the Santa Rosa Schools Master plans emphasized facilities maintenance, for proper maintenance ensures the longevity of the district’s buildings and sites. The master plan also developed energy management practices and recommendations for the future operation of the school.

Mora Independent Schools Facilities Master Plan
- 1994
The Facility Master Plan for Mora Independent Schools initially focused on utility identification and creating an accurate campus site plan. Studies of the infrastructure pointed to inadequate water pressure for future development and fire protection. A new water line was identified so that capital improvements could proceed. Our master plan team met at length with an elementary school committee, a high school committee, and a middle school committee to develop plans for their buildings. A new fourteen classroom middle school, elementary school media center, high school media center, and extensive remodeling to the elementary school became the focal issues of the master plan. The information collected from the master plan was used for a successful local bond election that generated 1.3 million dollars for the district. The master planning was also instrumental in the awarding of $1,500,000 from the state for the construction of a new middle school..
