Mora Middle School |
|
| The Middle School was identified
as the highest priority for Mora Independent Schools, when Soleil West
began the district's master plan in 1994. The only thing lacking was funding
for construction.
Passage of the local bond election in 1995 made the district eligible for Public School Capital Outlay dollars. Soleil West assisted the district in preparing PSCO applications and presentations. |
|
| The building got its funding, and over 1996, 1997, and 1998, a new middle school for Mora Independent Schools was designed and built. The project was designed in three phases. The first phase consisted of the foundation for the middle school. The second phase included the building of basic facilities for the middle school on top of the foundation built in phase one. The third phase has yet to be built and consists of a lecture hall for the new middle school. | |

Pecos Elementary School |
|
| The existing elementary school classrooms were under structural duress. Foundation settlement and sliding were creating unsafe conditions. To remedy the situation, Soleil West worked with the school district in Pecos to build a new elementary school. | |
| Pecos Elementary School was built in four phases. The first phase was the construction of a large multi-purpose room and kitchen area. Phase two included the construction of twenty four classrooms around the large multipurpose room. The third phase consisted of the addition of a library, media center and computer pods to the building. The fourth phase was the demolition of one of two existing elementary buildings. | |

Robertson High School Field House and Athletic Fields |
|
| The Robertson High School Field House and Athletic Fields were completed in the spring of 1999. The project included a field house addition to the Marr Gymnasium, a 3000 seat grandstand, football field lighting, a concession building, a press box, a public restroom building, a soccer field, two tennis courts, a softball field, composting bins, athletic field sodding, and irrigation. | |
| Soleil West considers this one of our most successful projects because it unifies two design projects completed three years apart. A library addition to Paul D. Henry Elementary School (shown on the right) was completed in 1996. The field house, public restroom building and concession stand reflect a similar design aesthetic. The two projects cover a three block area in Las Vegas, immediately adjacent to the NMHU golf course. | |

LVCS Maintenance Building |
|
| The Las Vegas City Schools Maintenance Building was designed in 1994. In the front are offices for some of the school district's staff. In the back is the bus maintenance garage for the district. The maintenance building is located across the street from Robertson High School. | |
| The west wall (shown in the photograph) has a flat facade reminiscent of Las Vegas’ railroad years. The masonry facade conceals a pitched metal roof, which reflects Northern New Mexico's rich architectural history of vernacular adobe buildings with pitched metal roofs. | |
